About the Shingo Model
The Shingo Model™ is not just another initiative; it is a new way of thinking. It is a comprehensive framework for achieving organisational excellence by focusing on principles that drive ideal behaviours and sustainable results.
Developed by the Shingo Institute, a programme within the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University, the model emphasises the importance of culture and systems in fostering continuous improvement.
The Shingo Guiding Principles consist of ten interrelated concepts that are designed to guide individuals and organizations on their journey toward operational excellence.
These core principles align to three dimensions of Cultural Enablers, Continuous Improvement and Enterprise Alignment, providing a framework for continuous improvement that can be adapted to any organisation or industry to create a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
